DAIRY SERVICES

In order to maintain the highest degree of efficiency and quality of output, ETECH works closely with industry specific consultants, designers and engineers when beginning any dairy related venture. The company is adept at producing goods to order as well as undertaking turnkey projects that involve design, fabrication and installation.

The end product can fit a category that ranges from fermentation tanks through to chill or hot water jackets, plus milk and ice-cream vessels with agitators. As specialists in tank production, ETECH make and distribute a variety of tank types, including those that are leg or skirt mounted, in addition to the manufacture of road tankers and other mobile vessels.

Tanks are constructed using processes that create either pressure-formed, dome-shaped ends or ones that have knuckled or conical ends. All of the necessary client and industry standards, inclusive of those for seismic hygiene and stainless steel fabrication (the latter conforming to NZSSDA and FES requirements), are duly met throughout every phase of production.

ON-SITE SERVICES

ETECH have enjoyed taking their wares to the road, so to speak, for over 25 years and in that time, though the technology may have changed, the process of job completion remains tempered by efficiency and superior finishing.

After the initial client consultation and subsequent pricing or tendering, work proceeds with company staff visiting the premises in question. The form of work can vary depending on the type of equipment being installed. In the past this has embodied the likes of pumps, heat exchangers, balance tanks, electrical and pneumatic cabinets, valves and electrical conduits.

Other kinds installations have involved jobs related to civil works and their associated trades. Recently completed projects have seen ETECH responsible for a Marlborough to Longburn pasteurizer relocation, while at the Pahiatua Milk Treatment Plant an upgrade to NZCP7 standards was also successfully finished.

ARCHITECTURAL & SPECIALISED OUTPUT

The building boom of recent years has allowed ETECH to expand its operational base into new realms of engineering. Of these, one of the most intriguing categories takes in the fields of architecture and specialised production.

The company enjoys completing works for private and public institutions throughout the country and has established a reputation for tackling assignments with innovative and uncompromised flair.

A number of structures and prominent buildings have been enhanced by the presence of ETECH-constructed fittings, utilities and three-dimensional sculptures. In Auckland, the company made an outstanding contribution to the Britomart project; of note were the construction and installation of a water feature, an array of stainless steel spheres, a glass bridge and various handrails.

When the UCOL building in Palmerston North underwent refurbishment ETECH was on hand to make and deliver a host of metalwork structures, in particular sunscreens, eyebrows and handrails.

In another bold move ETECH has announced itself as a player in the field of marine applications with the manufacture of canopies, winches, rod-holders and outboard bracket mounts.

CHEMICAL, PHARMACEUTICAL & FOOD SERVICES

In the last seven or so years ETECH has endeavoured to further its presence in the specialised chemical, pharmaceutical and food services field by taking advantage of new and exciting opportunities that are appearing in what remains a limited market. The company works closely with industry professionals to ensure that final output exceeds expectations and complies, at every stage of the production process, with all relevant testing and inspection standards.

As with most ETECH projects, an initial consultation with representatives within the industry leads ultimately to contracted work that, for example, may take the form of preparing process vessels or undertaking associated services like making scraped surface agitators or cooking vessels. The practice of vessel construction is exacting in its requirements and, in each instance, a period of extreme polishing is needed to achieve a necessary, high-grade mirror finish to inhibit the possibility of microbial growth.

For each industry type that it deals with ETECH takes special care to remain well informed and sensitive to all changes in technology. In this regard, and in particular when completing work on metal finishes, the company uses the finest, state of the art, electronic measuring equipment to check finishes up to 0.2 Mu or 0.2 Mu Ra (800 grit).

The excellence of all completed work is underscored by a series of stringent testing and inspection procedures, as well as third-party NDT (Non-destructive Testing), to comply with relevant industry and pressure-vessel codes.
