We are powered 100% by renewable energy
Environmental
We have implemented a multifaceted strategy to reduce our carbon footprint. We believe that the biggest changes start from the ground up.
Our factory is fitted with efficient LED’s.
We invest in efficient technology to decrease energy consumption and reduce our carbon footprint. ETECH replaced its Trump 3050 Co2 laser with a 10kw Fiber laser. Fiber lasers are 86% more energy efficient than Co2 technology.
We use sustainable and renewable energy. ETECH has installed a 165.6kw solar system at its Palmerston North based manufacturing site. Over the life of the system the sustainable energy source is equivalent to offsetting 790,538 kg of carbon dioxide and planting 89,595 trees.
ETECH recycles all steel offcuts, pallets and other packaging materials where possible.
ETECH collects water from its roof, storing it inside purpose built tanks. This water is used to pressure test our vessels and in other manufacturing processes.
ETECH occupies a purpose built building in the central north island town of Palmerston North. It is important for us to be located centrally and along busy distribution networks. This helps us to service our customers and distribute their products efficiently.
Product responsibility
In recent years ETECH has prioritised projects for companies who are committed to climate change initiatives. We are always looking to partner with likeminded customers, committed to doing their part.
ETECH has been involved in the design and build of an electronic waste processing plant. The sole purpose of this plant is to redirect waste away from landfill and back into the circular economy. 80% of electronic waste is currently disposed of in a harmful way and we are actively doing our part to help solve this problem.
ETECH is involved with producing another proprietary product for one of our waste management customers which helps them divert 50% of their customers waste away from landfill.
Supply chain practices
When choosing suppliers ETECH considers service, price and sustainable practices together. We view this as an important part of our strategy for a better future
Community
ETECH proudly supports the local Manawatu gravel and tar cycle race through finance and resource supply. We are committed to give back to our community and value the importance of having high profile local sports events in our community.
ETECH donates annually to the Rescue Helicopter organisation. We recognise the value of the hard work this organisation does.
ETECH offers internships for local engineering students to help them develop their skills, achieve their certifications and guide them into practical application of their studies.
